3D Printing and Transportation

3D printing is a very interesting form of manufacturing technology in my opinion. This technology allows for the creation of pretty much anything you'd like it to make. 3D printing can be used to create a wide variety of products. Some of the final products could be truly custom figurines such as custom action figures or bobble heads. Some of the final products could be prototypes for a product development firm. Some of the final products from 3D printing could be intricate things like organs, and body parts. Others could be things like houses. I want to talk about how this industry is going to create a serious array of jobs, while reducing the use of outsourcing.
One thing to know about 3D printing, is that it can be done on site, it could be done in some factory in Taiwan, it could be done anywhere. It could be done at a local manufacturing shop. It could be done anywhere there is a 3d printer. Why are we continuing to use the manufacturing services of companies that are out of this continent? There are so many inefficiencies that come about from that. Initially, the price of getting these models can sometimes be more expensive. However, it can be cheaper in mass production. Let's talk about 3D printing. First off, the hazards to the environment are pretty serious in comparison to work done in the United States. There are so many inefficiencies that come about from outsourcing this work. Aside from supporting child labor and social issues, there are tons of transportation expenses that come about.
When a piece is produced overseas, there are the initial facility emissions. This may be the same in the United States. Now let's consider transportation just to the ports in that country. The machinery used to move the product out of the facility onto trucks or trains should be taken into consideration. The trains or trucks will then drive down to the port. At the port, various machinery will be used to move the product onto the ships themselves. This should also be taken into consideration. After that, the ship itself will have to travel halfway around the world to bring products JUST into your nation. After this happens, the ports will have to use machinery to move parts off the ships, and onto the "homeland" if you will. The same machinery will continue to be used when moving parts onto trains, trucks, or whatever. These machines will then transport product to a warehouse of some kind. More machinery will be used to remove product from the trucks into the warehouse. Finally, when a customer orders a part, it will then be removed from facility with machinery, and put on a truck or shipped in some format. This fuel consumption should also be taken into consideration.
Compare that extensive transportation process to the use of 3D printing locally. The 3D printing process is much simpler! When using 3D printing, a 3D model will be sent to the facility locally over the computer, so no transportation would be taken into consideration there. The printer itself will then print the model in house. After that, it will be shipped out in one package, and will only use a "one way" and "one method" of shipping. Perhaps there is machinery involved to move the product, but not very likely for a 3D printed part. Compare that extensive process, to a postage stamp, or even a "flat rate" shipping box. That's it.

What Do I need to watch TV without Cable?

People around the world watch free-to-air satellite television; it is less common for us in the United States. We are more used to subscription cable and satellite options, but FTA works here, and it could offer a complement or even a substitute for paid TV. What do you need to start watching?
"Free-to-air" does not mean completely free: you do have to buy equipment in order to start viewing programs from around the world. The "free" comes in every month when you expect your TV bill. There isn't one. Once you buy the equipment, which is yours and has no rental fees attached, you do not pay for FTA satellite programming. For a trustworthy supplier, try Ocean Satellite for dishes and FTA receivers for sale. But let's take a few minutes first to explain what these are and how they work.
FTA Equipment
Clear southern view. This will help you receive the satellite signals more clearly; if your view is obstructed, not to worry. Your choice of dish will accommodate for this.
Satellite Dish. FTA satellites are generally larger than those from subscription companies like Dish or DirecTV. The bigger the dish, the better because a big dish receives better signals. But if you don't want a nine-foot lawn ornament, a smaller dish will be sufficient. Do not, however, go smaller than 36 inches. This is still small enough not to be obtrusive but large enough to recover signal.
Another feature is the LNB brackets. Each LNB receives data streams from one satellite transponder; if you have more brackets, you can pick up more options. Satellites usually require professional installation; even with this cost factored in, the cost of FTA is still less than the installation and fees for cable or paid satellite.
Receiver. The dish is designed to receive the signals from satellites orbiting the Earth. The receiver's job is to decode those signals into something you can actually watch. If you are new to FTA, choose a receiver that is user-friendly, can be installed in minutes, and is available at a low price so you can "experiment" with free-to-air and discover your favorite programming.
The receiver looks like a slim-line modem or the receiver you'd get from a subscription-based satellite service. It fits into your home entertainment center or on top of your television.
LNB. A down converter with low noise block is on the front of the dish. Its job is to receive the microwave satellite signal. It amplifies it, converts it to a band at a lower frequency, and sends it to the receiver inside.
DiSEqC Switch. DiSEqC is the protocol, or language, that a satellite uses to communicate signals to the switch. In this case, the switch is a small piece of equipment that attaches to your receiver to allow the equipment to "talk" to each other. Switches are typically under $5 and look very much like RF switches.
Free-to-air television does require some upfront expenditure; with the dish, professional installation, receiver, LNB, and switch, getting started with FTA can cost a few hundred dollars. This, again, is comparable to the cost of installation and equipment rentals for paid television services. The difference is that after you buy the equipment, free-to-air is just that, free. You can pick up channels from across the world or the local networks without a bill.

How to create a Wireless ad hoc Network

Hi, today I am going to show how to create a wireless ad hoc network without using a router. This network can also be used for sharing files and multimedia between two devices but before starting lets see the two basic questions:
What is wireless ad hoc network?
In simple terms it means connecting laptops, desktops or any wifi enabled device with wireless network without using wifi router.
What is the use of it?
It is really helpful if you have a regular modem but no wifi router and your two devices have wifi capabilities.
Now read carefully.
1. Make Sure you have internet connectivity on the device (laptop) through a wired or USB connection. Now click on network icon on right hand side on bottom of the screen (Taskbar) and then click on open network and sharing center.
or
Click on the Start button (windows flag) at extreme lower left hand side corner, then click on control panel and once in control panel click on network and sharing center.
2. Click on setup a new connection or network.
3. A new windows will pop up. In that window, scroll down and click on set up a wireless ad hoc (computer-to-computer) network and press next, and once again press next.
4. You will see some boxes wherein the first box you have to enter any desired network name. It can be anything but don't forget it th name. Leave the security type by default at WPA2-Personal. In the second box type your desired password but should not be less than 8 characters. If you want to save the network to use it again later then check the box in front of Save this network and press next.
5. A final window will show you wireless network name and other information. If you see the option of Turn on internet connection sharing Make sure You click it and press close.
6. Now go to other device which you want to connect with this network. Choose the wireless network name (SSID) and enter the password when prompted and that's how easy it is to create an ad hoc netork without using a router
Now you will be able to use internet on more than 1 device without wires.
Note: Make sure the device on which you are creating network should be connected with internet with a wired connection or with any other kind of internet except wireless network, otherwise you will be able to broadcast signal but without internet.

Why your office may need a fresh Look

In the past few years, audio and video design has rapidly advanced. With the ascent of new forms of communication and video display, many businesses are finding themselves behind the times when it comes to A/V design. Consider these reasons why your office may be due for a design upgrade.
• Communication is crucial. Audio and video directly affects the quality and ability of your office's communication, both internal and external. Every office needs the ability to videoconference, to easily display a presentation, and to hear the speaker in a conference room. Redesigning and upgrading your audio and video capability will have a huge impact on your company.
• Reliability is absolutely necessary. Closely connected to the issue of communication is that of reliability. Today, audio and video systems are an integral part of business and when it fails, your business can be severely affected until it's repaired. Loss of A/V capabilities means the temporary loss of productivity, leading to lost revenue and opportunity. Even A/V technology from just a few years ago isn't as reliable as new equipment is.
• New audio video design can help lower costs. The prospect of designing, purchasing, and installing new A/V equipment is financially daunting. It is likely, however, that doing so is financially advantageous for three reasons. First, upgrading sooner than later allows you to resell old equipment before it's too dated. The revenue gained by selling old equipment can help defray the cost of new equipment. Second, upgrading can prevent expensive repairs required by aging equipment. As equipment gets older, it requires more maintenance, more parts, and more repairs. New equipment, on the contrary, will only require an initial cost and minimal maintenance. Finally, new A/V designs are far more energy efficient and enduring than their outdated or analog forbearers. Whether your business is small and local, or vast and global, an A/V redesign can help reduce your long-term costs.
• Integration is the future. Any discussion of audio video design invariably gets involved in other areas of electronics and technology, such as lighting control, security/surveillance, energy management, facilities automation, and a variety of other issues. Today's A/V design can -- and some argue that they should -- be integrated with the rest of the facility in a smooth and seamless electronic system. This means most audio and video design companies have a wide array of services to help integrate your entire electronics and technological systems so your company can continue to grow in the future.

Better Pictures with these Ipad apps

Photographers, from hobbyists to those who do it for a living, are known to readily spend cash for iPad apps. There are a lot of apps for the iPad available for download that help a photographer with his images especially if he is on the go. On top of that, they can be downloaded at very affordable prices, some of them even for free.

One of the best iPad apps for photography buffs is Snapseed from Nik Software. It allows you to do simple photo editing. The app is organized into eleven sections - Automatic, Tune Image, Selective Adjust, Straighten & Rotate, Black & White, Crop, Drama, Vintage Films, Grunge, Organic Frames, and Center Focus. What differentiates this app from other photo editing apps is that its interface is gesture-based. You just have to tap or slide your finger on the screen when you want to switch between options or if you want to adjust an element of the image. The U Point technology of the app makes it something photo editing enthusiasts will be very happy with. For now, users cannot zoom into images for any adjustments to be appreciated at the pixel level. Moreover, you cannot edit a whole batches of pictures. But for $4.99, the app can be considered a steal. This is definitely an app you'd want to sell iPad for so you can upgrade!

The Color Splash app lets you highlight a specific element of your photo very easily. To use, you just select an image and then the app will automatically turn it into a black and white photo. Then, you just have to paint the color that you like onto the part that you want to highlight using your finger like a brush. The app allows you to adjust the brush size. It also offers options such as undo, zoom, and the option to save it for future editing if you are not done yet. The straightforward sharing feature to the usual social media suspects - FB, Twiiter, Instagram, and Flickr is also a plus. But that may be the app's weakness as well. It does not have its own social network feature. To share your pictures using the app, you would need to use third parties, as mentioned earlier. Color Splash is more affordable than Snapseed, though, at $1.99.

HelloPhoto is an app that lets you enjoy your slides and negatives. You use it as a light table to view the negatives or slides. It allows you to adjust white balance and brightness as well. Lastly, the app can also let you convert your negatives into digital photos. It is so cheap at $2 that you won't mind paying cash for iPad app. For those who want a nostalgic touch by seeing those obsolete negatives, this app is for you! Bring those old pictures back to life, and you can even choose from different trays like 35mm negatives, slides, and 120/200 film, aside from the full-screen option. Of course, a sharing functionality for your social media accounts is also available.

Safe A Reliable covert for your Home valuable

How to protect your property?
One of the easiest way is to lock your whenever valuable things into a safe. The safe is a strong metal box which is protected by a lock. Safes are attached to a firm location and carrying it away is made impossible.
Buying the safe into your home or office is a wise investment. Especially for those who own valuable assets and documents which are easy to carry from one place to other.
Safety box or safe?
Choosing between safe and safety box, you must first think for what it is needed. You might also consider the needs of growth and appropriate price. Safe box do not have a burglary class certification. On the contrary, safe does.
Safety box and safe can be distinguished by weight also. In most cases, the proper safe weights a lot and is anchored to the floor. The safe is locked on two to four sides, while safe box is locked on one side. Safe's locking mechanism is deep inside the door, so the keys are more than 13 cm in length. In order to open the door, thief has to get enough time, skills, and special tools.
To lock the safes, you can use key lock, mechanical or electronic code lock. For a greater protection, you can use two locks at the same time.
What to keep in the safe?
In your safe you can keep different items, which have any material, or emotional value. For example, jewellery, coin collections, keys, watches, documents and cash are suitable to keep in the safe. You can also keep there some electronic devices, such as laptop and video camera.
How to choose a suitable safe?
There are many types of safes. For the best protection, you should acquire it according to your needs. Hereby, we can speak widely about safe's peculiarities, construction, breaking resistance, and fire protection. There are plenty of information about that in Internet. However, two main criteria are value of assets in euros, and need for fire resistance.
If your assets do not have higher value than 500 €, and must be protected from rapid theft, you should use simple safety boxes. But if you store more valuable things, such as a large amount of cash, you should think about certified safes. Those kinds of safes are equipped with a good lock and have special protection against drilling. According to its security class, quality safes are usually equipped with theft insurance.
Your property can be protected from the fire, also. There are different types of fire-resistant safes. According to the fire protection class, the content of the safe will be protected from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Acquiring this type of safe, you should take into consideration its location.
It is reasonable to analyse how many combustible materials are surrounding the safe. In addition, you should know how far is nearest fire brigade. If you are living in the rural area, your safe should have a higher fire-resistance than those, which are held in city apartment.
You should remember that during the fire the temperature reaches 100 degrees. In this case, documents are safe, but high temperature ruins floppy disks and film negatives. Because of that, you should also buy a separate databox. Media storage locker, or datasafe, is much cheaper than the safe, but gives a full protection against 1000 degrees.
